Curiouser and Curiouser

Penny has been enjoying her time back in Ohio, getting to know the various wondrous plants and animals she missed in her February visit. The hospice is surrounded by some beautiful grounds, where Penny has fun peeking out the picture window at the chipmunks, geese, squirrels and other fun friends.

Of course, Penny also likes meeting the six-legged friends that live even closer to home. We had been watching a lovely caterpillar clad in yellow, white and black stripes (monarch most likely). He seemed to disappear a short while ago, along with all the leaves from the Virginia Creeper vine under the window. Today, I spotted a little green chrysalis hiding behind our trash can, so perhaps we'll see him again in a different form soon. Penny was fascinated by the preying mantis in the picture and he narrowly missed being grabbed on several occasions.

Then there's this strange creature, Aunt Amanda. Aunt Amanda is tons of fun -great for hanging one upside-down from one's ankles, tickle fights, and screaming contests. It is Aunt Amanda's goal to teach Penny as many bad habits as humanly possible, so she can get Penny thoroughly riled up and then hand her off to me. When Aunt Amanda isn't at work or catching up on sleep, she's often found egging on Penny in her constant pursuit of trouble.

Haha...she is going to be just like you. Loving all sorts of insects. So is Penny modeling now? That is great! You need to fill me in.

LOL! Every time I saw that box I thought that looked just like Penny... guess you noticed too, eh?

Tristan loves bugs too. He is often found laying flat on the ground, nose-to-nose with whatever insect he's found.

I'm glad Penny found a playmate ;) haha

Aunt Amanda sounds like she's doing a good job with her neice :) I'm glad Penny has a playmate! Everytime I see that diaper box I have to do a double take..that baby looks just like her (she's prettier of course)

Are there any first birthday plans in the air?
